The Kingdom of Bahrain, reforming itself primarily with the help of the youth and their fresh ideas is now narrowing its focus on the environment and animal safety on the island, aside from other aspects and governmental sectors’ initiatives.

It is impressive and heart-warming to see individuals come together and initiate action, creating a major difference and sharing it across social media platforms for others to join in.

"The Animal and Environment Protection Charity Organization" (AEPCO) was founded in 2019, by Sheikha Marwa bint AbdulRahman AlKhalifa, the President of the organization. Since their public announcement of the initiative in mid-Ramadan, they have launched a TNR Program from June 6th to the 20th, calling in volunteers and donations to help out fulfill their vision.

Possible Donations include: Cleaning products, blankets, dog food, shampoos, anti-tick medications, clean water, dog bones and toys... etc, with volunteering hours being from 9am to 5pm.

No donation is too small and anything you can do to help out would mean a great deal to the animals that have been rescued, neutered and set out for adoption.

Adoption rules are strict and for good reason. The animals who are now kept in safety and are being taken care of were rescued across the streets of the Kingdom, from those who were thrown out to those who have run away.

The animals seem comfortable as far as the program has gone, and the organization attracts more and more volunteers and donations on a weekly basis, with German Ambassador, H.E Kai Boeckmann and his spouse as regular weekend volunteers to the organization proving as excellent examples of not only diplomatic but humanitarian work in their country of duty.

AEPCO still has big plans for homeless animals in the Kingdom and will continue to work on removing stray dogs specifically from the streets. Voluntarism is a perfect opportunity for people of all ages, with Sheikha Marwa bint AbdulRahman AlKhalifa personally helping out and educating children about the importance of being kind to animals, and looking for finding these rescued dogs a safe and loving home.

This organization seems promising and proves what a difference can be made if people come together for the right cause.
